Graded VG 3 by PSA. This candy card is from a multisport set that includes thirty-one different subjects. Ruth is the only representative of baseball. Although Ruth is not identified by name on the front of this card the familiar image of a follow-through batting pose undoubtedly resembles the "Bambino's" mighty swing. The reverse of the card features a short history of the game of baseball and mentions Ruth's contract of $52,000 for the 1933 season. The card is bright, crisp, and clean, with light wear to the corners, bold colors, and centering toward the left. A couple light creases and a spot of paper loss on the reverse account for the assigned grade. This is a very attractive example of this unusual Babe Ruth card, which would make an outstanding addition to any Babe Ruth or New York Yankees card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
