Graded VG 3 by PSA (submitted by REA). Presented is a solid mid-grade example of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, one of the key cards to the 1927 Exhibits set. All Exhibit cards of Gehrig are highly prized, but the fact that this card was issued in the key year of 1927 naturally gives this Gehrig card an additional appeal. The 1927 Exhibits (3-3/8 x 5-3/8 inches) have a green tint and are blank-backed. Gehrig is pictured in a full-length batting pose, ideally the exact same pose used for his 1925 Exhibits rookie card. The card has a bright, crisp image, with even wear to the corners, no creases, and a light moisture stain along the bottom edge and also halfway up the left and right edges. Aside from the mentioned moisture stain, the blank reverse is clean. This is a very attractive example of this highly desirable Lou Gehrig card, dating from the height of the Yankees' unprecedented glory. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
