Outstanding original uncut strip of ten cards from the 1925-1931 W590 strip-card set, highlighted by seven Hall of Famers, including Grover Alexander and Tris Speaker. This series of forty-three different Major Leaguers was originally part of a larger multisport set which is catalogued as W580, and which also included movie stars, boxers, and other various athletes. This issue was originally intended to be cut apart by hand by youngsters. Surviving complete as-issued uncut strips are extremely rare! This ten-card strip ideally features seven Hall of Famers: Alexander, Bancroft, Carey, Frisch, Harris, T. Jackson, and Speaker. The three common players on the strip are Burns, Caveney, and Grimm. The strip has an overall Very Good display value, with even wear at the corners and some light age toning in the borders and on the blank back. Despite these minor flaws, the strip, which measures 14 by 2-3/4 inches, offers a superb opportunity to acquire an almost never seen complete uncut strip of W590, in their original form as they were issued. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
