Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Extremely attractive example of Babe Ruth from the W551 strip-card series. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregularly cut borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Only ideally cut examples (which are few and far between) are awarded numerical grades by SGC (and PSA). The offered example is neatly cut (tailing in slightly at the bottom of the right edge), with light even wear at the corners, and a crisp profile portrait image of Ruth set against a red background. The blank back is clean. This is a very desirable example of one of Babe Ruth's most classic 1920s strip cards and one that would be an outstanding addition to any Babe Ruth, strip-card, or prewar-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
