Graded VG+ 45 by SGC. Rare sample card of Donie Bush (Detroit Tigers) from the D303 General Baking issue. Issued in 1915 by the General Baking Company, this series shares designs with several closely related caramel issues (E90-1 American Caramel Company, E106 American Caramel, T216 Kotton, etc.) from the same era. The offered example has vibrant colors and a crisp, flawless image. Centered slightly to the bottom left, with even rounding to the corners, and a faint crease on the lower right border near his left hand, all of which accounts for the modest assigned grade. The reverse is clean with a flawless advertisement for General Baking and its products. This very clean and extremely attractive sample from this rare prewar food issue would be a welcome addition to any D303 or type-card collection. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
