Pair of two high-quality D304 bakery cards, each featuring an extremely rare advertising back: Martens Bakery and Weber Bakery. Issued by a bakery in the Buffalo, N.Y. area, these cards are known with five different back styles (Brunners, Butter Krust, General Baking Co., Weber Bakery, and Martens Bakery). In our experience, Weber Bakery is the most difficult of these five backs, and as far as scarcity, Martens Bakery is a close second. Each card is graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). 1) Jack Barry - Martens Bakery (VG+ 45, outstanding centering with perfect registration, even wear on the corners, and two light stains). 2) Fred Merkle - Weber Bakery (VG 40, clean and crisp, with square corners, brilliant colors, and a very light surface wrinkle visible on the reverse). This is a very attractive pair of high-quality sample cards, each with an extremely rare advertising back, from one of the era's most popular and classic sets. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300.
