Graded EX 5 by PSA. Only two examples are graded higher by PSA! T3 Turkey Red cabinet cards are among the most impressive and desirable cards of the era. Chase was, in fact, a major star of the day, but his involvement with gambling and unsavory characters undermined his legend, and ensured that he would forever remain a "non-Hall of Famer." The card is remarkably crisp and clean, with bold colors, perfect registration, and even wear to the corners. There are two corner creases (more visible from the back), one on the upper left and the other on the lower left. The checklist (with offer) reverse has a small ink mark near the right edge, but is otherwise perfectly clean with flawless bold black text. This is a very attractive high-grade example from one of card collecting’s most highly prized early twentieth-century cabinet-card issues. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
