Graded EX 5 by PSA. This is one of only two examples graded at this level by PSA with none higher. Strong high-grade example of Byron Houck (Philadelphia Athletics) from the T222 Fatima set issued by the Leggett & Myers Tobacco Company in 1914. These individual-player Fatima cards are much rarer than the T200 Fatima team cards. The thin photographic stock and fragile glossy surface of these unusual real-photo style cards make them especially susceptible to creasing. The offered example is crisp and clean, with four square corners, a natural light waviness to the paper stock (common with this issue), and centering just a hint to the top. The reverse is lightly toned and a few spots of the text are faded. This is a very attractive sample card from this distinctive tobacco-card set, which advanced collectors recognize is far rarer than its more widely collected tobacco-card cousins, such as T205 and T206. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
