Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely rare sample card of Neal Ball (Cleveland Naps) from the T215 Red Cross (Type 1) Tobacco set. The highest graded of only two examples evaluated by SGC! T215 Red Cross is one of tobacco-card collecting's most overlooked issues. Very similar in design to and borrowing images (and identically printed and phrased captions) from the T206 set, T215 Red Cross cards are believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area. The cards measure 1-1/2 x 2-5/8 inches, which is the standard size for tobacco issues. This is an attractive card, with vibrant colors and four strong corners. The well-centered reverse is boldly printed, an ideal quality for a sample of this scarce issue. Slightly off-register color alignment and centering entirely to the bottom account for the assigned grade. This is a very attractive sample from one of tobacco-card collecting's rarest sets. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
