Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely rare sample card of Harry Lord (Chicago White Sox) from the T215 Red Cross (Type 1) Tobacco set. The only example evaluated by SGC to date! T215 Red Cross is one of tobacco-card collecting's most overlooked issues. Very similar in design to and borrowing images (and identically printed and phrased captions) from the T206 set, T215 Red Cross cards are believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area. The cards measure 1-1/2 x 2-5/8 inches, which is the standard size for tobacco issues. This is a particularly attractive card, with vibrant colors, a crisp image, excellent centering, and light wear to the four corners. The reverse is boldly printed, an ideal quality for a sample of this scarce issue. A light horizontal crease accounts for the assigned grade. This is an extremely attractive sample from one of tobacco-card collecting's rarest sets. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
