Collection of five different high-grade 1911 T212 Obak tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated by PSA (except for one SGC as noted). Obaks are among the most popular of all early card issues featuring players from the Pacific Coast League. While catalogued simply as T212, Obaks were actually issued over a period of three years, from 1909 to 1911, and are really three sets. The 1910 and 1911 Obak sets, in addition to featuring players from the six PCL teams, also feature players from the four-team Northwestern League. The 1911 set cards are easily distinguished by the red printing on their backs. Each of the cards are bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, perfect registration, and four square corners. The collection consists of the following:
Bonner (Spokane, EX 5), Carson (Vernon, NM 7), Kuhn (Portland, EX-MT 6, 1 of 2, highest graded), Miller (Oakland, NM 7), and Starkel (Victoria, SGC EX/NM 80). All the cards in this collection of these increasingly popular PCL tobacco cards present with outstanding eye-appeal. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very attractive high-grade collection of these early classics. Total: 5 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
