Graded VG 40 by SGC. Very attractive mid-grade example of Hall of Famer Tim Keefe (ball out of hand pose) from the popular N284 Buchner Gold Coin set. Buchners are unusual in that they feature generic illustrations of the ballplayers rather than the actual likeness of the identified player. The offered card displays a flawless, crisp image, with bold colors, slightly rounded corners, a few tobacco stains, and centering to the right. The reverse is clean with boldly printed black text. This is an extremely presentable Hall of Famer example from the Buchner Gold Coin tobacco set, one of the few full-color baseball-card sets of the nineteenth century, and one of the most artistically interesting, distinctive, and classic baseball-card sets of the 1880s. Reserve $300. Estimate 500+.
