Presented is a collection of seventeen different cards from the classic T206 White Border series, highlighted by a scarce variation of Frank Smith (Chicago & Boston). Each card is graded and encapsulated by SGC. Fourteen cards have Piedmont reverses and three have Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This collection consists of the following: One VG/EX 50: Smith/Chicago & Boston. One VG+ 45: Rhodes. Twelve VG 40: Beaumont, Dahlen/Boston (Lionel Carter Collection), Doyle/throwing, Ganley (Lionel Carter Collection), Magee/bat, Manning/batting, Mullin/throwing (Sweet Caporal), Pelty/horizontal, Reulbach/glove showing (Sweet Caporal), Schulte/front view (Lionel Carter Collection, Sweet Caporal), Wagner/bat on left (Lionel Carter Collection), and Williams (Lionel Carter Collection). Two GOOD 30: Doyle/hands above head and Smith/F. Smith on front. One FAIR 20: Street/catching. This is a very attractive collection of seventeen cards from the classic T206 set, each having an appearance superior to its technically accurate assigned grade. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the one half-grade at the lower whole-grade level) is $1,078. Total: 17 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
