Graded VG 3 by PSA. The T206 portrait of Ty Cobb set against a deep green background has long been considered the rarest of the four poses of Cobb in the T206 set. It is one of the most recognizable and popular of all vintage baseball cards. Bright, crisp, and clean, with even corner wear, perfect registration, and centered ever-so-slightly to the upper left. A crease across the lower right corner and a pair of wrinkles visible mostly from the reverse account for the assigned grade. The Sweet Caporal ad on the reverse is well centered and very clean. This example illustrates that even today a collector, with patience, can still obtain many of the most noteworthy cards cards in outstanding condition on a relatively modest budget. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
