Graded EX 60 by SGC. Outstanding example of Hall of Famer Roger Connor (hands chest level pose) from the popular N284 Buchner Gold Coin series. The card displays bright colors, light wear to the four square corners, and excellent centering. A few tobacco stains are visible on the reverse. Buchners are unusual in that they feature generic illustrations of the ballplayers rather than the actual likeness of the identified player. This is an outstanding Hall of Famer example from the Buchner Gold Coin tobacco set, one of the few full-color baseball-card sets of the nineteenth century, and one of the most artistically interesting, distinctive, and classic baseball-card sets of the 1880s. Reserve $300. Estimate 500+.
