Presented is a collection of twenty-five T206 White Borders, each professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (eight), SGC (sixteen), or BVG (one). The collection is highlighted by two Hall of Famers, an infamous "Black Sox" member, and a scarce team variation. All backs are Piedmont or Sweet Caporal (except for one Old Mill as noted). This lot consists of the following: One PSA EX+ 5.5: Covaleski. One VG/EX+ 55: D. Hoffman. Nine VG/EX 50: Chase/blue (PSA VG-EX 4), Cicotte (PSA VG-EX 4, Black Sox), Dahlen/Boston, two Herzog/Boston (one SGC VG/EX 50 [Old Mill], and one PSA VG-EX 4), Killian/pitching, Leifield/batting (PSA VG-EX 4), Rucker/portrait, and Steinfeldt/portrait (PSA VG-EX 4). One BVG VG+ 3.5: Willetts. Thirteen VG 40: Beckley (HOF), Bransfield, Bresnahan/portrait (HOF, PSA VG 3), Dahlen/Brooklyn, Gibson (PSA VG 3), Hemphill, Howell/hand at waist, Jones/St. Louis, Lake/New York, Lundgren/Kansas City, Murphy/batting, Nicholls/hands on knees, and Wagner/bat on left shoulder. This is a very appealing collection of cards from the legendary T206 White Border series, the most popular and classic prewar-card set in existence. The total SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $2,142. Total: 25 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
