The 1914 Cracker Jack is understandably one of Walter Johnson's most desirable and popular cards. Johnson, of course, is one of the significant key cards in the set, along with Cobb, Jackson, Wagner, and Mathewson. The card displays outstanding color, perfect registration, an extremely bold red background, centering to the right, and even wear to the four corners. It is almost entirely free of caramel staining, which so often plagues 1914 Cracker Jacks. Heavy creasing accounts for the PSA grade of PR-FR 1, which was assigned in the era before half-grades. Presentable low-grade example that would be a worthy addition to a collection of Cracker Jack, Walter Johnson, or vintage Hall of Fame cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
