Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Presented is an extremely attractive example of #93 Del Pratt (St. Louis Browns) from the 1914 Cracker Jack #144 series. Pratt has long been considered one of the most difficult cards in the set, and the population reports support this fact. To date, out of 4,035 cards from the 1914 Cracker Jack set evaluated by PSA, only thirteen examples of Pratt have ever been graded. Pratt is also extremely rare to find in high grade, with only one example grading higher than the offered card. Bright and crisp, with a bold red background, even corner wear, and centering slightly toward the right. The front and back both display modest caramel staining, less than is normally encountered with #144 series cards. Downgraded due to a small corner crease in the upper right and a wrinkle along the bottom edge. The 1914 Cracker Jacks, of course, are far rarer to find in high grade than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 #144 series cards were issued only in boxes of Cracker Jack. This is a superb example from this classic set that would make an outstanding addition to any high-quality 1914 Cracker Jack set or prewar-card collection. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+.
