Collection of three different 1912 E270 Colgan's Chips "Red Borders" cards. Similar in design and borrowing the same images as E254 "Stars of the Diamond" series, the E270 "Red Borders" set is far rarer than its E254 counterparts, and very distinctive, with its bright red border surrounding the image. The back of each card reads: "Send 25 Box Tops From Violet or Mint Chips and Get Free - A Handsome Photograph of the World's Pennant Winning Team." This lot is composed of three different cards: Bush - Detroit (centered entirely to the upper left, otherwise Ex), Konetchy - St. Louis (Ex+), and Regan - Rochester (Fr-Gd). This is an extremely attractive collection of three samples from this very scarce and distinctive prewar candy issue. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
