Collection of twenty-nine (twenty-two different) caramel cards, each professionally graded by SGC (except for six PSA as noted), from six different classic caramel-card issues spanning the years 1909 to 1911, and including four Hall of Famers. This collection consists of the following: 1) E93 Standard Caramel (3 cards): Three McGraw (HOF, VG/EX+ 55, PSA VG-EX 4, and Authentic - trimmed along the bottom). 2) E94 George Close Candy (3 cards): Two Davis (VG 40 and POOR 10) and Lord (FAIR 20). 3) E95 Philadelphia Caramel (7 cards): Chance (HOF, GOOD 30), Doyle (PSA VG-EX 4), two Maddox (EX 60 and PSA VG-EX 4), Merkle (GOOD+ 35), Morgan (PSA EX 5), and Willetts (EX 60). 4) E96 Philadelphia Caramel (12 cards): Adams (PSA FR 1.5), Davis (FAIR 20), two Dooin (VG/EX 50 and POOR 10), Herzog (VG 40), Meyers (VG 40), Mowrey (FAIR 20), two Pfeister (GOOD 30 and PSA GOOD 2 [MK]), Rucker (GOOD 30), and two Thomas (both FAIR 20). 5) E97 C. A. Briggs Co. (1 card): Kroh (GOOD+ 35). 6) E98 Anonymous "Set of 30" (3 cards): Davis (orange background, GOOD+ 35), Kling (green background, GOOD 30), and Tenney (red background, POOR 10). This is a very attractive high-quality collection of caramel cards from six of the era's most popular and classic sets. The SMR value for just twenty-six of the cards (no SMR pricing is available for the E97 set, excluding the one Authentic and one qualified card, and also factoring the half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $4,370. Total: 29 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
