Extremely rare and very likely unique blank-back proof example of #122 Paul Popiel from the 1970-1971 Topps Hockey issue. While at first glance the offered card may appear to be nothing more than a blank-back version of the final-issue card, close examination reveals that it possesses a subtle difference that will be of great interest to proof-card collectors. In addition to its blank back, the proof card is missing the Canucks team name from the bottom nameplate. An example of the final-issue card is included for comparison. The proof card is handcut, with a slightly uneven cut along the left edge, but in otherwise Near Mint condition. This is an extremely unusual and fascinating Topps rarity that would be very much at home in even the most advanced Topps or error-card collections. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $100. Estimate (open).
