Original unopened wax box of 1976 O-Pee-Chee baseball containing forty-eight unopened wax packs. Each pack contains eight cards for a total of 384 cards. This is a very rare box from the final year in which O-Pee-Chee sets paralleled the Topps checklist. We have not seen another unopened wax box from this year offered at public auction in many years! The 1976 O-Pee-Chee set includes many Hall of Famers and stars, including the rookie cards of Dennis Eckersley and Ron Guidry. The entire box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint cards. The display box has survived in outstanding condition with bright colors and minimal shelf wear visible. This is a stunning unopened wax box that would make a superb addition to any unopened wax box collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
