Collection of three complete and unopened wax boxes from two of the "The Monkees" sets produced by Donruss in 1967. The Monkees, the famous pop band headlined by Davy Jones and Mickey Dolenz, gained immense notoriety during the mid-1960s because of their popular NBC television show. To capitalize on the craze surrounding the band, Donruss produced a number of sets devoted exclusively to the band and featuring scenes from the show. This collection consists of the following three complete unopened wax boxes: 1-2)
Two 1967 "More of the Monkees" Wax Boxes: Sepia-colored series. Each with 24 packs. 3)
1967 "The Monkees - Series 2" Wax Box: Color photo series. This is the Canadian “blue box” variation with 36 packs. The boxes come shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint or Gem Mint examples. This is an outstanding collection of wax boxes from these classic mid-1960s nonsport sets devoted to the pop culture phenomenon that was The Monkees. Total: 3 boxes, 84 packs. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
