Collection of eighty different Dixie Lid nonsport premiums issued in the 1940s, representing four different series, and all related to the military. These full-color large-format premiums feature beautiful artwork and rich color, making them one of the most striking and distinctive of all 1940s nonsport issues. Each premium was designed with two holes along the left edge for easy binding in a scrapbook. The reverse of each 8 x 10-inch premium features black-and-white stills of various wartime scenes along with a few short paragraphs about the military scene. The experiences of the military have long been a very popular subject for cards. These classic sets are rarely seen in the form of a collection. These sets are naturally popular with nonsport card collectors, and also appeal very much to general collectors of military related items. The sets have been beautifully preserved for decades.
