Complete set of the classic 1935 R89 "Mickey Mouse" Bubble Gum cards issued by Gum., Inc., consisting of ninety-six cards plus an original wax wrapper and one Mickey Mouse Bubble Gum premium album. Also included are four R90 "Mickey Mouse and the Movie Stars" singles (#99, 106, 113, and 115 - All cards have the answer filled out in pen on the back, but otherwise present as Vg to Vg-Ex.) Condition is 19% Vg-Ex (including a few Ex), 45% Gd to Vg, and 36% lower (including a couple with a slight trim, one with color added, and a few which measure small). Mickey Mouse Bubble Gum cards are considered by many to be the single most classic 1930s nonsport bubble-gum card set. The brilliant colors, high-quality artwork, and popular subject matter have always made this set a favorite with collectors. It is also worth noting that cards from this set are much scarcer than most collectors realize, and far more difficult to find than most baseball cards of the era (such as Goudeys, National Chicles, Play Balls, etc.). This is a very affordable complete set of one of the most popular of all 1930s gum card sets, with tremendous crossover appeal to both card collectors and Mickey Mouse collectors. The set is accompanied by: 1) A Mickey Mouse Bubble Gum wrapper. The original wax wrapper is bright and crisp, with several bold illustrations of Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters, and is in Vg condition. 2) Mickey Mouse Picture Card Album: "Volume 1" designed to house cards #1-48 is Vg-Ex, exhibiting only minor wrinkling and discoloration. Total: 102 items (set of 96, wrapper, premium album, and four R90 singles). Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
