Complete set of twenty-five 1890 N102 Duke "Bridges" cards. Rarely offered medium-to lower-grade complete set of these extremely popular and colorful tobacco cards, issued with Duke's Honest Long Cut tobacco brand. These cards (2-1/2 x 4-3/16 inches) feature magnificent full-color illustrations of different bridges throughout the country (except two outside the US), including a Brooklyn Bridge example. An advertisement for Duke's Honest Long Cut Tobacco appears on the reverse of each card. Condition is: three Vg-Ex, sixteen Gd to Vg, and six lesser. This is a very attractive set, with fascinating subject matter, and with excellent eye-appeal. This very scarce issue is rarely seen as a complete set, and is highly prized by nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card collectors. Total: 25 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
