Land grant, dated May 1, 1826, signed by John Quincy Adams (1767-1848), sixth President of the United States. The document, both printed and handwritten, grants Levi W. Goodan of Sangamon County, Illinois, eighty acres of land located in Springfield, Illinois. It has been signed in black ink (grading "9") by "J. Q. Adams," as President, and by the commissioner of the land office. The original paper seal (faded) remains firmly affixed in the lower left corner. The document (15.5 x 9.5 inches) displays heavy folds (as issued) and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA and auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Pre certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
