Trio of scarce nineteenth-century football items. 1)
Pair of brown leather football cleats. Each cleat features leather soles and a reinforced leather toe. The size, "9 1/2," is stamped on the bottom of each shoe. No manufacture is listed, but a label on the interior of each tongue reads "The Cert." Both shoes displays heavy wear and are complete with vintage white laces. In Very Good condition overall. 2-3)
Two different styles of nose guards. Each nose guard is constructed of metal and is complete with its original head strap. The smaller of the two (6 inches long) has printing along the top exterior that reads "Morrill's Patent Nose Mask." A patent date of "Sept. 29 1891" appears on the interior. The other nose guard (7.5 inches long) bears no manufacturer's marks or copyright date. Both display heavy wear and are in Very Good condition overall. Total: 3 items (pair of cleats and 2 nose guards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
