Mike Schmidt Rawlings/Adirondack signature-model "154A" bat dating from the 1987 season. Graded GU 8 by PSA/DNA. The bat, which is not cracked, displays outstanding use along its entire length, including ball marks (with ink transfers), stitch impressions, checking (grain separation), cleat marks, black shoe polish, and red bat-rack marks. A wrap of red tape (6.75 inches in length upward from the knob) has been applied to the handle, and there is a light application of pine tar on the upper handle. The model number ("154A"), order number ("207"), and year code ("7") are stamped on the knob. Schmidt's uniform number ("20") is written on the knob in black marker. Schmidt has signed the bat in black marker (grading "6/7") on the barrel (below the stamped facsimile signature). Schmidt batted .293 with 35 home runs and 113 RBI in 1987, which marked the last great season of his career. A member of baseball's elite 500 Home Run Club, Schmidt led the National League in home runs on eight separate occasions and was the recipient of three MVP Awards, including back-to-back honors in 1980 and 1981. Schmidt was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1995, his first year of eligibility, and in 1999 was named to Major League Baseball's All-Century Team. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33.8 ounces.
