Attractive nineteenth-century rosewood trophy bat featuring a metal band around the center and a metal cap covering the knob. This bat was never issued to a team or player, as neither the metal band nor cap displays any engraved text. At length of 40 inches and weighing 43.6 inches, the bat is certainly one of the most impressive-looking trophy bats we have seen, and we can only imagine that it represented one of the top-of-the-line models available to patrons at the time. The bat, which is not cracked, displays a number of moderate indentations and scratches, as well as two small holes (possibly made by a nail) located on the barrel approximately nine inches down from barrel head. The metal band is not affixed in any manner and can be positioned slightly up or down if so desired. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
