Diecut advertising display featuring Duke Snider in promotion of B. F. Goodrich's "P. F." Canvas Shoes. This piece, which is actually the top portion to a much larger retail display, pictures an illustration of a television set showing Snider catching a ball. A young child is in front of the set mirroring Snider's action. The caption reads "B. F. Goodrich 'P. F.' Canvas Shoes present Duke Snider on TV showing 'How To Play The Outfield." Two separate illustrations of P. F. Canvas Shoes appear on the television screen, with the caption along the base reading "P. F." Helps You Play Your Best Longer." The display features a precut slot along the left side for its insertion within a corresponding slot in the larger stand-alone store display. The piece (approximately 12.25 x 16.5 inches) displays both heavy staining and a few tears to the illustrated baseball in the upper right corner A lesser water stain is evident near the base. Although the piece is in Good to Very Good condition due to the staining, the central image area is free of any defects and the display presents at a much higher level than that suggested by its technically accurate grade. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
