Red-felt pennant issued in commemoration of the 1947 All-Star Game, held at Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 8th. This is the second-earliest All-Star Game pennant and one of two different examples produced for the 1947 mid summer classic. The white-painted lettering reads "All-Star Baseball Game Wrigley Field, Chicago, Ill. 1947." The pennant also displays the name of each team's participants, including Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and Warren Spahn. The pennant (28.25 inches) is without tassels (probably as issued; no evidence of tassels having been removed) and displays tack holes at the tip and each corner, as well as a few others in the main body of the pennant. In Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
