Specially produced full ticket, featuring portrait images of George Wright and Tommy Bond, issued for a game between the Boston Bees and Chicago Cubs held at Braves Field in Boston on June 24, 1936. Encapsulated by SGC, with the ticket certified as “Authentic.” What makes this ticket special is that in conjunction with the game, Boston was also celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the National League by holding an Oldtimers’ Day game and a reenactment of a game played during the league’s 1876 inaugural season. Both Wright and Bond, who were two of the oldest living National League players at the time, were special guests that day and the club saw fit to honor them by placing their portraits on the ticket. Unfortunately, it appears that the regular-season game and the festivities were canceled by rain that afternoon, which is probably the reason why this rare full ticket still survives. The ticket (5.25 x 2 inches), which has a Boston National League Baseball Club stamp on the reverse, displays light toning, a few minor creases, and light surface wear. In apparent Very Good condition overall.
