1926-1927 official National League (Heydler) ball in its original box, together with the rarely seen original retail case, which once housed one dozen of these balls. The baseball remains in extraordinary Near Mint to Mint condition. The box displays a small abrasion to one of the side panels and the paper seal is complete, with just a clean break at one of the corners (which allows for the opening of the top lid). Aside from those two minor condition anomalies, the box remains in Excellent to Mint condition. The retail case (12 x 9 x 3 inches), which bears A. G. Spalding's portrait image on two of the side panels, is heavily worn, including staining, tearing to the paper labels, and edge tears. In Poor to Good condition overall. Total: 3 items ball, box, and retail case. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
