Collection of seven original photos, and two second-generation prints, each originating from the family of Rabbit Maranville. All but one of the photographs captures Maranville either posing alone or with friends and/or teammates. Five of the photos picture Maranville in uniform as a member of the Boston Braves or St. Louis Cardinals. Many of the photos have vintage notations on the reverse that identify some of the people pictured. Two are dated, but all appear to have been taken between the years 1914 and 1928. The most significant are the four original Boston Brave photos from circa 1914. The first captures Maranville at the plate during batting practice, the second pictures him posing on the field with Butch Schmidt and another unidentified player, the third pictures him seated on the bench with manager George Stallings and a few other unidentified individuals, and the fourth pictures Stallings, Johnny Evers, and three other unidentified players on the field. The photos range in size from 2.5 x 3.5 inches to 6 x 3.25 inches, averaging 4.5 x 4 inches. All are slightly curled and display moderate handling wear, including light creasing, tiny edge tears, and general border wear. Total: 9 photos.
