Photo capturing the Washington Senators in a classic team pose, circa 1912-1915. Certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. Twenty-four team members are pictured here, including manager Clark Griffith, Walter Johnson, and Chick Gandil, who was one of the key conspirators in the 1919 "Black Sox" scandal. Interestingly, all of the players are pictured in their home uniform with the exception of Johnson, who is wearing his road uniform. The particular uniform style shown here was used by Washington for the four-year period 1912 to 1915, which definitively dates the photo to that narrow span. The photo (8.5 x 6.5 inches) displays a moderate vertical crease, as well as a few lesser creases. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
