Exceedingly rare Chicago Cubs pin issued during the club’s 1906 pennant-winning season. The diminutive pin (.875 inches in diameter) reads “Chicago Cubs Champions 1906” and features illustrations of three baseball bats within a geometric design in the center. This is one of only a few examples of this pin we have ever seen the first we have ever offered. The fact that it refers to the Cubs as “Champions” indicates that it was probably issued during the 1906 World Series against their crosstown rivals, the Chicago White Sox. That limited distribution is most likely the reason for its great rarity today. No manufacturer listed. The pin displays moderate toning, as well a few light-to-moderate scratches. In Very Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
