Attractive pairing of a nineteenth-century baseball pocket watch and figural pocket-watch holder. 1) Elgin pocket watch featuring an engraved game-in-progress scene on the reverse. The engraved illustration pictures a runner attempting to steal home while the catcher awaits the throw and the batter stands at the plate. The watch, which is in working order, displays moderate handling wear and is in Excellent condition. 2) Figural metal pocket-watch holder featuring an adult player positioned to the right, and a young player, with bat and ball, to the left. The banner at the top is engraved "Home Visitors." 5 x 2 x 5 inches. In Very Good to Excellent condition, with moderate tarnishing and a light loss of finish to the figural players. Total: 2 items (pocket watch and pocket-watch holder). Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
