Collection of three high-grade cards from the rare and unusual Grignon Chicago Cubs photographic postcard series issued in 1907. This set was produced to commemorate the Cubs' participation in the 1907 World Series and is one of the most popular baseball postcard issues of the era. Each card pictures a large teddy bear in a baseball pose with a small black-and-white portrait of a Cubs player in an upper corner. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). The collection is composed of the following: Arthur Hofman (EX 60), Carl Lundgren (VG/EX+ 55), and Jack Taylor (VG/EX+ 55). None of the cards has ever been mailed, and there is no writing on their traditional postcard reverses. This is a very sharp-looking trio of these rare and very distinctive postcards. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
