Pair of SGC-graded postcards from the 1907 Wolverine News Detroit Tigers Postcards issue. This set of twenty postcards was produced by the Wolverine News Company to commemorate the Tigers' participation in the 1907 World Series and is famous for the inclusion of one of Ty Cobb's true rookie cards. Each card is postally unused and graded SGC VG/EX+ 55. 1) Herman Schaefer: crisp and clean image, even wear to the four corners and light soiling on the reverse. 2) Charlie Schmidt: bright and clean image, with strong corners displaying only light wear, a tiny corner bend in the lower right, and overall clean reverse. This very attractive pair of postcards from this very rare issue would make outstanding additions to any postcard, Detroit Tigers, or prewar-card collection. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
