Pair of rare cabinet photos from the 1904 Anonymous Studio Cabinets series, frequently referred to as the "Name on Photo" series. The players featured here are Harry Lumley of the Brooklyn Superbas and Homer Smoot of the St. Louis Cardinals. Interestingly, neither of these players appears in the 12-card checklist for this issue published by the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. As noted in the Standard Catalog, all of the portraits in this series are uncredited, but are known to have been taken by noted Boston baseball photographer Carl Horner. Other than that, we have little-to-no information about the series or its origins. Each cabinet (5.5 x 7 inches) remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Total: 2 cabinet cards. Reserve $200.
