Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue or black ink by the following 26 members of the 1955 American League Champion New York Yankees: Mantle, Berra (sweet spot), Rizzuto (sweet spot), Ford, Hunter, Turley, Robinson, McDougald, Collins, Carey, Kucks, Howard, Carroll, Leja, Konstanty, Byrne, Grim, Bauer, Lopat, Noren, Sturdivant, Wiesler, Morgan, Silvera, Cerv, and Skowron. Signatures range from "3" to "7," averaging "5/6." The number "25" is written in blue ink on a side panel. We have seen a number of Yankee balls from this era with numbers on them. That number corresponds to a player's uniform number and was put there by the clubhouse attendant to indicate which player the ball belonged to. (Players were constantly beseeched by friends and acquaintances for team-signed balls, so this was an easy inventory system for the clubhouse workers.) Irv Noren wore number "25" for the Yankees in 1955, so this ball most likely originates from his personal collection. The ball is lightly soiled and displays a few small areas of darker discoloration. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Pre certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication.

Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
