This unique Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed item features the blue-ink signatures of 31 members of the 1957 club, the last team to play in Brooklyn. The homemade piece, which has been crafted from cardboard to resemble a two-dimensional baseball has been signed by the following players: Campanella, Koufax, Reese, Snider, Hodges, Alston (Mgr.), Herman (coach), Roseboro, Gilliam, Jackson, Newcombe, Cimoli, Craig, Pitler (coach), Roebuck, Neal, Walker, McDevitt, Furillo, Erskine, Zimmer, Labine, Bessent, Pignatano, Podres, Valo, Kennedy, Amoros, Griffin (equipment manager), Mulleavy (coach), and one other (illegible). All of the signatures are fairly uniform in grade, averaging “9.” A vintage ink notation on the reverse reads “The 1957 Brooklyn Dodgers/Last team to play at Ebbets Field.” The piece (8 inches in diameter), which is hand cut, displays two small areas of adhesive residue on opposite edges, as well as a few tiny, scattered areas of light toning.
