Rare 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers promotional ink blotter signed by Gil Hodges. This blotter, which was a promotional give away by “Marine 5-10¢-and-up Store,” urges fans to come to the store on Wednesday, April 29, 1953, at 6 p. m. to “Meet Your Favorite Dodgers Player In Person!” On the left side of the blotter a number of lines have been provided for the players to sign. This particular example has been signed by Hodges in blue ink, with the signature grading “9.” This is the first example of this promotional blotter we have ever seen and one that would be a fine addition to any advanced Brooklyn Dodgers collection. The blotter (9.5 x 4 inches) displays a moderate vertical fold and tape residue on each of the four front corners. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Pre certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication.
