1939 World's Fair Laurel Card, issued by the Academy of Sport, beautifully signed in black fountain pen (grading "10") by Joe DiMaggio. These cards were presented to each student who attended the daily sports clinics sponsored by the Academy of Sport at the 1939 World's Fair. The clinics featured many famous sports personalities of the day, who volunteered their time to instruct youngsters on the finer points of the game, and routinely signed these souvenir cards for attendees. This is only the second World's Fair Laurel Card we have seen autographed by DiMaggio, making it both a rare and desirable souvenir signed by the legendary "Yankee Clipper." The card (4.25 x 2.75 inches), which was issued to "Jerry Green of Flushing, N.Y.," displays light wear and is in Excellent condition overall. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
