Addendum (4/6/17, 2:03 PM): After further inspection of the packs from a recent inquiry we have noticed that the seals on four of the twenty-four packs have loosened. Images of the four packs have been added to our website. Rare original complete unopened wax box of 1968 Topps "Baseball Posters” houses twenty-four five-cent wax packs, each of which contains one poster and a stick of gum. Issued by Topps in 1968, this unusual set contains twenty-four posters which measure 9-3/4 by 18-1/8 inches and features Hall of Famers and stars of the era. The display box, featuring Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle’s poster from the set on the top lid, has visually always been one of the most exciting Topps counter-display box designs. The packs are in Nr/Mt or better condition (except one pack has a tiny tear on the side edge). The display box has also been well preserved, displaying only light shelf wear, looking as it did when it sat on the candy-counter shelf nearly fifty years ago. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+.
