Offered is the actual original artwork used to produce card #402 "Larsen Pitches Perfect Game" from the 1961 Topps set. This is a particularly noteworthy and impressive artwork belonging to one of the several cards devoted to historical baseball events in the 1961 Topps set. The illustrated area of this original artwork measures 4 by 4-3/4 inches but is part of a larger artist's board measuring 4-5/8 by 6 inches in total. The artwork is in overall Near Mint condition while the artist's board displays normal paint marks as well as the pencil notation "2-3/8 x 2-7/8." The blank reverse displays pencil writing which reads "1115444/Don Larsen/pitching his perfect game/yanks" A small perimeter area of the artwork was cropped out on the final issued card. This is an outstanding original 1961 Topps flexichrome artwork from one of the most distinctive cards in the 1961 Topps set. The artwork is accompanied by an example of the issued card. Reserve $400.
