Complete 32-card red back set of 1962 Statistic Back Exhibits. These unnumbered black-and-white cards were issued on thick cardboard and have the player's statistics printed in red on the reverse. This set is highlighted by many of the great stars of the era, including Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and Stan Musial. Condition is consistently Vg-Ex to Ex, with one Ex-Mt. Four cards are graded by PSA. Keys: Aaron (VG-EX 4), Berra (Vg-Ex+), Clemente (Ex), Koufax (EX 5), Mantle (EX 5), Maris (Ex), Mays (Vg-Ex), Musial (Vg-Ex+), and Pappas (EX 5). The Statistic Back Exhibit card sets (they were issued in 1963 also) are among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the early 1960s, an era in which competition in the card-manufacturing world spurred innovation among all card companies, and no doubt resulted in Exhibit adding statistic backs. This set is also of special note as it was released in the final year the Exhibit Supply Company issued cards. Total: 32 cards.
