Presented is an extremely rare three-card advertising panel issued by Topps. This is a very significant advertising item relating to the 1954 Topps set. The front features three sample cards, #24 Granny Hamner, #45 Richie Ashburn (HOF), and #33 Johnny Schmitz. These panels were provided to grocers and candy-store owners to illustrate the format of the set and to generate ordering interest. The reverse features fully printed card backs. A special Topps sticker is affixed to the reverse, covering the back of the Schmitz card as well as part of the Ashburn card, and advertises the "Biggest Names! Biggest Series! Biggest Sales!" and "The Finest Series Ever Produced!". This is a tremendous rarity, which introduced the 1954 Topps set to retailers, and it is the first 1954 salesman panel that we can ever recall offering! This panel, which measures 7-7/8 by 3-3/4 inches, is in overall Excellent to Mint condition, with bright colors and just a light touch of wear to the upper right corner. The reverse is boldly printed and entirely clean. A superb and extremely rare salesman sample, which would be an outstanding companion piece to any complete 1954 Topps set or addition to any world-class advertising collection. Reserve $300.
