Graded VG 3 by PSA. Attractive mid-grade example of Ty Cobb from the M116 Sporting Life set, one of the most popular of all 1910-era issues. M116s have always been highly appreciated by collectors for their distinctive style and rarity relative to the more commonly seen tobacco cards of the era. Ty Cobb, of course, is one of the key cards of the series. Bright and clean both front and back, with light wear at the corners, centering toward the top, and one light surface wrinkle. The advertising for Sporting Life (rare "Over 300 Subjects") on the reverse is printed crisply and boldly in blue, with centering toward the top left. We grade this card more conservatively than PSA due to a couple spots of paper loss at the left and bottom edges. Still, this is a very presentable example of one of Ty Cobb's most classic cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
